Core Memories & Games
I was inspired by this post https://apgr.absurdpirate.com/gaming-moments-that-became-core-memories. Here are some cherished memories I have related to games:
- Playing flash games during lunch break with my friend in elementary school: Powder Game, Superfighters, Interactive Buddy, Cactus McCoy, Earn to Die, Happy Wheels, The Impossible Quiz, Strike Force Heroes
- Playing with that same friend on his Xbox, while eating Cachou candies (the taste still reminds me of those times); games like Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, Skyrim
- Getting my first Pokémon game (Platinum) and playing it at a hotel on vacation during winter break
- Getting Minecraft and playing it for the first time on my mom's old MacBook
- Talking with a middle school friend about Minecraft all day long, and getting in trouble with teachers for it (lol sorry Mr Luzi I wasn't listening, too busy talking about redstone torches)
- My middle school technology teacher letting us play Counter Strike 1.3 on Thursdays after lunch
- Sucking at CS:GO, but having good laughs with my buddies
- Picking up osu! (and becoming addicted) with a friend group and pushing ourselves to play harder and harder maps, which taught me a lot about perseverance and learning new skills
- The traditional yearly Minecraft survival servers with friends that only last a few weeks
- The many hours of laughter with friends playing Gartic Phone during covid
- Being on call with a friend and showing him my gameplay of Persona 4, laughing at all the goofy dialog
- Starting a multiplayer game of Factorio with a friend, and making jokes about our spaghetti belt networks and drinking the science liquids
- Playing Outer Wilds for the first time, and then later watching my dad play it
- Playing Death Stranding for the first time, while also going through some lonely times in real life
- Playing through Elden Ring with my sister using Seamless Coop
